Norah's 3rd Birthday

Norah turned 3 on April 13, 2008. Sorry I am a little delayed in getting pictures posted, but better late than never, right?!?

Here is our little "Cinderella"

My good friend Susan Fields made two cakes. We had Cinderella's castle and yes, the doll is really a cake!

Update on James

Well, we are finally out of the hospital. We actually got home on Saturday. James spent to days under the phototherapy lights to bring his jaundice levels down. On Thursday afternoon his Bellirubin counts were at 27. The doctor told us they get concerned with any levels over 20. As of Friday morning, they were down to 14. This drop was good, but the doctor wanted him under the lights for one more day to bring down the levels even more before they sent us home. By Saturday morning, we got the count down to 10. Yeah! So, we were able to come home and relax (as much as possible with a newborn in the house). Darren will be taking James back to the dr. tomorrow to have his counts checked. Hopefully, they will have stayed the same or better yet dropped more.

While at the hospital, my little guy proved to be very tough! When we first got there, they had to put an IV in. Because he is so little, they had trouble finding a vein. They ended up sticking him 10 times! I'm not even kidding. They stuck him twice in each leg, twice in each arm, and twice in the head. I was so upset. But, my little guy didn't even cry. (Did you know they give babies sugar water on a pacifier when they do this. They told us it acts as a natural morphine. It worked wonders.) Anyway, back to the IV story. After they finally got the IV in his head he was able to get the fluids he needed to help flush out the Bellirubin. But, little James did not want the IV and at 3:00 in the morning, he reached up with his little arm and pulled it right out. What a stinker!!! He also kept taking off his eye mask that was protecting his eyes from the light. Needless to say, I was worried to death all night and therefore did not sleep. I stood over his bed most of the night trying to comfort him. It as so hard to not pick him up and hold him all night but I couldn't take him out of the lights except to nurse him. :(

Enough of my rambling.... Please keep him in your prayers and pray that his counts go down quickly.

James Patrick Stewart

Well, I haven't had a chance to post the information about our little boy. James Patrick Stewart was born on April 23, 2008 at 10:13 p.m. He weighed 8 lbs 8 1/2 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. Everything went perfect and our little boy is precious.

Now, for a current update. We took James to the pediatrician today for his 1 week check up. She noticed he was more yellow than he was at the hospital and ordered blood work done to check to see if he has jaundice. Well, about 2 hours later we got the call to take him to the hospital. They needed to admit him to put him under the lights. So, that is where I sit as I type this. Hopefully, I will know in the next hour if his levels have gone down. The way it sounds, we will be out of here tomorrow, but it can also take a few days. Please keep us in your prayers. As we are not the most urgent patient on the floor tonight, it is still scary having your baby in the hospital. :-( Also as you are praying for our family, please say a prayer for all the children (and parents) that are in the hospital.

We will keep you update...

Loving my boy!

My Little Black Belt!

Madison earned her Little Ninja Black Belt a few weeks ago. We are so excited for her! Above is a picture of Madison and Sigung Chris.

Wow, Life is Busy

I can't believe how time flies. I have been so busy running the day care, raising two children of my own and being pregnant with a third, and facilitating a Financial Peace University class at Church, that sometime I forget I have a blog page.

I have two new children starting at the daycare, so that brings my numbers up to 10 during the day and 4 more after school. Once the baby is born we will have 11 during the day. I can actually take on one more, but at this point I am telling people I am full.

I still try to find time to do laundry and other household chores. The only one I am really good at is doing the dishes (and no I do not have an electronic dishwasher...I am the dishwasher). I think the only reason I get that done is so we have something to eat on for the next meal.

Speaking of which...better try to figure out what is for supper...oh wait, tonight is Wednesday...we have supper and study at the Church so I don't have to cook. Yeah!
